Bike chain is the most important component on bicycle. Bike chain is the medium of power, saddle, tire and wheel. The power from the saddle forces tire and wheel to move faster and faster. Bike chain will be more important when you are involving in extreme biking activities exploring mountain or downhill with your friends. Bike chain is not longer useful if you do not use your bike properly. Why, because every move, force and power will directly effect the bike chain. In this article I am going to show you how to ride your bicycle properly in order to make your bike chain have longer life.

Bike chain is made from iron and some manufactures use other component in order to provide better and stronger bike chain. Beside that some bicycle manufactures understand that iron is too fast getting hot and attrition quicker than other component. I will not talk about bike chain component now. So, let’s forget about it.

Well, the first thing to ride your bicycle properly in order to have longer life of bike chain is to ride it like a pro. You can force your power, but you should not kick the saddle too suddenly. There are the process and smooth but strong action to saddle the bike especially when you are slopping upward to the top of the hill. If you think that you have no power any more, you should stop right now or you will break the bike chain. Stop saddling and start walking beside of your bike. Beside that, you can hurt your muscle if too force to keep saddling.

Second tips, you should grease the bike chain as often as possible especially when you are going to ride it. You can use any kind of lubricant brands, but you should as recommendation from the bike workshop so that you can use the right lubricant for the bike chain. Remember, quality will get the high quality as well. You will be paid with appropriate price when you pay them wit the best effort and money.

Third, make sure that you have done double check the bike chain include pressure, lubricant, the key, the measurement, and other adjustment. This is important to make sure that you have the best bike chain condition before riding to the hill.

Fourth, don’t forget to not crossing mud slick and stop on it for a long time. If you do this, you will find the bike chain full of mud and it is difficult to clean it perfectly especially when it is dried already. You need hard duty when you face this problem.

The last tip is keep trying to replace old bike chain with the new one so that you can avoid of the damage on the way while biking on the hill. It will help you to prevent any problem while having fun with your friends. If possible, bring reserve lubricant so that you can grease bike chain any time you want. Keep watching and be careful.
