Road Bicycles Versus Mountain Bikes

Which one is better, road bicycles or mountain bikes? If asked by a friend about both of them, honestly I cannot answer it at that time because both of them have different characteristic and also different segmentation of the user. Road bicycles are produced to fulfill all segment, meanwhile mountain bike is designed for specific users. Even though they have different market, actually the competition is quite frontal between both of them, and this the factor why many people compare them including in features, price and function. But if we talk about the strength, durability and price, I will choose the road bicycles as the winner. Why? These are the answers of mine.

Road bicycles are designed for any tracks, road and hill. You can use road bicycle for traveling around the town or explore the adventures on the hill. But, it has limited features compared with mountain bikes if we use it at the open air challenge. But if we talk about the complete function for any track, road bicycles are the champion of all. Beside that, if you want to compare the part’s price, road bicycles are cheaper than mountain bike. At least you find the part of the road bicycle easier than another brand. I do not under estimate the other bikes, but if we see and do little research we will find that road bicycles are used by major people in Europe and US.

For example we can take Trek 1.2 as sample, it is widely claimed as the best road bicycles for dummies. It has stable handling, comfortable seat , great upright positioning and good frame which is made from aluminum from the Shimano’s Sora Group. This bike has triple chain ring so that very comfortable to explore the hills. Although many users said that it has not better smooth than mountain bike but this bike has brought complete function as road bicycles and hill explorer.

Road bicycles are also designed for women, the company of this bike has produced special type with specific features that is aimed for women. If we talk about the complete function, price and parts, road bicycles are better than mountain bikes. But actually it depends on your hobby and favorite track. If you like road and small hill, road bicycles might fit for you. But if you are a challenger, you should choose mountain bike.

Road bicycles have also some drawback, no body is perfect right? And the drawback is at the unfocused features. So, road bicycles are good for all track but the features for each track is not totally complete and it make people always find a drawback at each road bicycles. The company should repair it as soon as possible by adding complete features for all tracks. If the road bicycles have complete features for all track, they probably getting of the best of the mountain bike’s customers.

Those are my answers if asked which one is better between road bicycles and mountain bikes.
